The Bedford Garden Club has maintained a garden behind the Bedford Historical Society’s Museum since 1972. Originally an herb garden designed by Helen Telzrow and others, the garden was moved and redesigned after the Museum built an addition in 2001.

This new garden, which features a raised center bed, has been in place since 2006. A fence was unveiled here in 2017 to commemorate the 90th anniversary of The Bedford Garden Club (and protect plants from hungry deer). Medallions, depicting different aspects of Bedford history, were added in 2018.
