Since 1927, The Bedford Garden Club has been one of the leading service clubs in Bedford. As the oldest active gardening club in Cuyahoga County, The Bedford Garden Club provides educational programs, plant sales and exchanges, field trips and other activities to members and the community.
Members support or maintain a variety of gardens throughout the City including Babyland in Bedford Cemetery, the garden behind the Bedford Historical Museum and the beds at Dunham House on Broadway across from Bedford Commons. The Club also provides support for Arbor Day tree plantings, flower boxes on Union Street Bridge, and the Community Garden behind Central Elementary School.
In a city-wide effort, The Club recognizes local residents whose homes feature gardens of outstanding curb appeal, with our annual Bedford Beauties Awards each July.
Members have fun sharing ideas, learning from each other and socializing, too! The Club typically meets the third Thursday of most months from March through November at the Ellenwood Recreation Center, 124 Ellenwood Road, in Bedford. You need not be a Bedford resident to join.
