After a year of planning, our 90th anniversary celebration is history! Many people made it happen. Dot Schwende labored over a party invitation list and later worked with Jeanne Sapir, spending hours pouring over old photos to put together a slide show of memories of the Club; Jeanne also did an excellent job of calling and distributing prizes at the party. Heather Rhoades did the graphic design of our printed program as well as offering many excellent suggestions to the planning. Barb McDaniel did window displays at Carson’s Business Center and the Library and finished with a presentation at the party. (She also co-chaired our Garden & Art Tour last June.) Trish Karabowicz was our supply resource. Phyllis Barone, thinking there would only be a few prize offerings, took on the job of making up gift baskets. Little did she know it would turn into a major task of ticketing and assembling 42 different prizes. Guests had much to see and do at the event, none of which would have been possible without teamwork.
Our thanks also go to: Terry Blair for his excellent narration of the evening’s entertainment; Maureen Neff of Casa Verde Growers, who selected the choicest mums for the tables; Therese Chapman’s Carol James Florist who provided floral displays; former Treasurer Paul Pojman who helped at the ticket table; Runners Charlotte Fleming, Trish Karabowicz, Peggy Zelasko, Heather Rhoades, Geneva Sheppard, Michelle Daunch, Susan Elenin, Kathy Donato, Maria Zadnik and Sarah Piller whohelped distribute prizes; Sharon Migchelbrink, steward of funds; Tony Koltcz of Birchwood Party Center for the excellent dinner and service.
