The Bedford Garden Club founded in 1927 is among the oldest active garden clubs in Ohio. Dedicated to community service, the Club will celebrate its 90th anniversary with special events and projects throughout the year.
This year’s special events will include a Bedford Garden & Art Tour of the some of most lovely gardens in the city of Bedford, Ohio. Each garden will be paired with a local artist who will be displaying their work as well as working on a new piece while in the gardens. This will allow the public to see both the botanical beauty and artistic accomplishments in the city of Bedford. The date of the Bedford Garden & Art tour is set for June 17th, and tickets are on sale to be public for $10. The Bedford Garden Club members will be able to purchase tickets for $7. These plantings will go towards helping Bedford maintain its status as a Tree City, a designation bestowed upon the City by the Arbor Day Foundation for maintaining a healthy tree population.
Next, The Bedford Garden Club will be participating in Bedford’s 4th of July parade with a design that has been created by local artist and Bedford Garden Club member, Brenda Junkin. The planned entry is sure to be both whimsical and delightful.
Concurrently, The Bedford Garden Club is proceeding with design plans for an art installation at a site to be announced at a later date. When complete, the project will add to the many places of interest in Bedford, OH.
